1962 Fender Stratocaster, Olympic White Refin

Description

A superb players' 1962 Fender Stratocaster, finished in Olympic White, offering all the slab-board early ’60s Strat tone and feel without the price tag of a fully original custom colour example.

This is a full refinish, including overspray to the neck, with evidence of red and black paint visible in the cavities. The neck is dated Jan ’62 and has a lovely C profile, measuring 41.2mm at the nut, with a depth of 21.1mm at the 1st fret and 23.6mm at the 12th. It's had a changed nut, it's been refretted and overall it plays very well with good fret height and a comfortable C profile that feels great in the hand.

Hardware includes the correct Pat Pend saddles, bridge trem block and claw and correct single line Kluson tuners. Plastics consist of the correct mint green pickguard, pickups covers and knobs.

Electrically, the guitar has a replaced 5-way switch but retains three correct black bottom pickups, along with 3 correct Stackpole pots dating to week 14 of 1961. The pickups read 7.39k at the bridge, 7.04k in the middle and 6.7k at the neck. Tonally, this is an excellent sounding Strat: chimey, bright, articulate and clear, with a very even response across the positions. The pickups are well balanced and overall this is a wonderful guitar to play!

A very good opportunity to own a slab-board vintage Strat with desirable features great playability and killer tone... without the £60k fully original custom colour tag! Comes with a period correct Selmer hard case.
