1981 Gibson Les Paul Standard, Sunburst

Description

A beautifully preserved example of an early ’80s Les Paul Standard finished a vivid cherry sunburst, giving that classic look that defines Les Pauls from this era,

Post-pancake body era, this '81 is back to the classic mahogany body and maple cap construction we know and love, with a beautiful finish that is almost totally unmarked. It retains its original, highly regarded Tim Shaw humbuckers, a more vintage-inspired  departure from the other higher output, often muddy pickups which were more commonplace at the time.

The 3 piece maple neck has a comfortable, slim-to-medium C- profile with a very small volute, a hang on from their '70's offerings. All making for a familiar and easy-playing instrument without feeling overly bulky. Overall, it’s a solid, dependable Les Paul that does exactly what you’d expect

Presented in almost mint condition, this is an exceptionally clean example for its age. All parts and electronics remain original.

The frets are on the lower side due to dressing over the years, but remain very playable. Aside from this, the guitar is in beautiful condition throughout.

A very tidy, all-original Gibson Les Paul Standard, complete with sought-after Tim Shaw pickups and in notably well-preserved condition.
